I was sculpting away at this, just to relax and practice a bit, until Zbrush decided to crash on me. Started from a box, turned into a sphere. About an hour of work. Did manage to take a shot before it crashed though.
I always make the eyes too big :( and if I try and make them smaller then I make them too small grrrrr. I'm out of practice, I need to quit playing so much Diablo
Made this last night. Wasn't expecting anything decent to happen, just wanted to practice starting from a 'simplified skull' shape i saw in a clay sculpting lesson. It could use lots of polish but here you go.
New one from me, also did some quick Spotlight texturing, wanted to try that out. Didn't spend to much time on the ear as you can tell, this one was mainly to practice eyes / eyelids, not perfect but getting better at it.
Been an age since I have even touched a 3d app, so decided to start with some sculping practice seeing as its always been a weak area for me. About 2 hours tinkering with the Zbrush default male head.
more practice, I feel like Im still doing alto of things wrong, looking at it now Im seeing alot of the trouble spots with the eyes and the ear still and proportions in general bleh! oh well around a hour or hour and a half?
Wow reading through this thread there is some seriously inspring stuff! thought I'd jump on the speed modelling band wagon to give me some much needed practice. So this is my first ever speed model and it took 31 minutes.
Monday Night Challenge: Mesh Modeling - Detailing a Head just 4 fun ! achillesian practicing is good! but spent more time on on your models befor you show it...make ears, eyes and hair. and search for anatomy references... stylish jaco...cool models and nice sculpingtechnic!
For some reason I don't practice nearly enough as I should with sculpting, but whenever I do I lose track of time and have tons of fun. With this one I can't give you the exact time, but I'd say 1 hour ish.. 1,5 hours max. (made in sculptris)
guess this is a speed sculpt, about 1 hour, from Sketchup 7, into 3D Coat and out as a 438 tri low-poly obj. I'm just practicing making assets for a personal game project, trying to figure out what works quickly for me, without too much time getting lost in details...since I do that a lot.
