Hey guys, I am trying to import a cage into xNormal from Max 2011. I have tried several different methods. I have tried exporting the cage that the projection modifier makes to an editable poly, then exporting out. I have tried just straight cloning my LP and exporting it out. I have tried using .obj and .sbm formats. When…

Remind the object needs to be triangulated(Edit mesh :p) before applying the Projection modifier. The SBM exporter cannot export quad-based cages. Also sure you have checked in the…
Well I got it working great using the xNormal SBM exporter. There is a tut on the xnormal site on how to set it up, super easy, but cage works great using it. Basically just setup the stack in max as follows +Projection +Xform +Edit Mesh +Edit Poly Export using SBM and import into xNormal and check use cage box. Magic!

Re-export it scaled or just use the scaling option on the mesh slot. - ResetXForm+Collapse+Edit mesh triangulation in 3dsmax, then…

I tried exporting .smb + cage, bake is now different... not a lot better If someone can take a look at mesh, and help me out I would be very excited. I…
