I like it, the gem makes a nice focal point. It looks a bit flat though, you'd probably want to add some sharp and shiny internal reflections and facets for a bit of visual interest :3
Baddcog: he looks flat enough on his chest and belly, maybe you can reduce the poly count by removing the middle seam in places. There's still some tricks that will allow you to mirror the UVs after all. To me it looks good though, I only think you should make the texture crisper (and turn off filtering if you haven't).…
the hat is very flat. If you look at the concept is has a slight curvature to it. I would take the verts on the top rim and scale them in a bit and raise the verts in the middle up a bit to give it more of a slope..
i knew grey fox looks like a flat chest girl and you wouldnd accept a manly version @render i wantet to kill and reinstall my machine and havent installed your texturetools :D
Really nice tutorials Xrg ;) thanks, I learned a lot ! The transition between elements are well made. But I rather like the "flat" (block colors) version with no scratches ...I guess it's just personnal taste.
I think you have some room in the texture to add a flat plane that is alpha-ed so that it looks like some of the liquid? is dripping out. Would really look like he just sat in it. :D
What resolution is that going to be rendered on? In this screenshot, the tentacles already give a lot of speckling/noise, so those whould be simpler. On the other hand, the disk part looks very flat and empty so needs more detail.
thx! I don't know exactly what you mean with flat lighting... There are ambient occlusion and shadows in the texture, no vertex lighting at all. I don't know how to disable texture filtering in the viewport in blender 2.53
wow thanks for all the reply's :D, I'll try to do what you guys say, and here is the texture flat you asked for: I'll make the surrounding of the eye with poly's and make the eye part seperate in the UV
fuxer, that's a really nice altair here's my own take... was for the lpc05, but i didn't have time to finish it up by deadline (still working on it, though)... fullbright: flats: props haven't been textured yet, obviously
