For this hand painted prop study I used a concept by Julio Nicoletti. I'm fairly happy with how I painted it, but I wonder how my topology is, as I have no work experience. Should I have taken the tris a lot lower? I'm wondering what the standard mobile poly count is nowadays.
Everything in here inspires me so much! I wish i could just do handpainted all day every day! I recently finished a little Genie designed by Baptiste Gaubert i had a lot of fun so i hope you like it! More renders on my Artstation! Thanks!
The textures you see on the model are 2048 x 2048 I painted that high so I could lower it and it would still look good. I wasn't 100% sure how I was going to do things when I started. But my computer could handle it fine. Alpha masking makes it look uglier :/ I think the issue is I need to separate all/most of the objects…
I made everyone's favourite Borderlands character as an attempt to study their specific style. It took some time to figure out how to approach it, more than I liked, but I think I got the style down in the end. model
@AntonioNeves thanks man! I love your textures man. I will probably use them as a source of inspiration. I think the scene turned out great. all it needs now (haha, I know you are with the scene) is a lumberjack!
@StephLee - Thanks ^^ I went back in and added some lighting to him. There's still more to be done, but I was curious to know if I was heading in the right direction.
I can't believe that i didn't saw this thread before, i love handpainted textures, here is on of mine: This is the first environment of my game Ventura
