Quick update from today! Had a busy week at work so could not really do much for this. But I've made and textured the tunnel ribs which are really super cool and added the side wires. I also put the rails further apart as suggested by DWalker.
Progress for the day. Thanks for the crit, DWalker. I'll see how much I can implement by tomorrow night. As stated before, this is part of my demo reel due on Tuesday morning. Currently adding a fire alarm. Next up, Water fountain and necessary changes.
mediocre generic - badly animated - robots invade and destroy city unconvincingly. Whats that saying again? You can't sing, you can't dance and you can't play. You'll go far. good luck to the guy. The CG talkers are spot on though; this short lacks any kind of story or emotion.
Cheers for the crits dwalker; there was something off with the top fold on the boots and I couldn't quite place what, you've cleared it up for me thanks! I'll reduce the heel size and improve on the folds :) , and yeah I was going for a more realistic approach :D Thanks!! Crits very much appreciated :D
Thank you for your advices . @MooseCommander : It's true ^^ I will change a little the tone for don't look like neon :p DWalker : Yeah I will add some shadow paint on the texture. About de drop shadows, it's normal you can don't see on my render because it's a unlit render ^^
To those who think 'official' is somewhat like 'official', I should mentioned that it's really official's distant cousin, 'not official'. As in, Valve's not confirmed it yet. While that's mostly moot at this point, I still got somewhat annoyed at some wanker's blog talking out of its arse to get more hits.
Sometimes the money thing isn't as straightforward as no pay=no work. If the company has always maintained good working conditions and honest management, there's often a lot of goodwill and willingness to go above and beyond in the hope you can keep it going. On the other hand, if management are a bunch of lying, cynical…
@Dwalker Thanks, I'll look into that. I had trouble finding a good ref for the size of the bullet. This is the only reference of the ammo with the gun that I could find: @Odeca Thank you! I did model the original flip sight but I was told to also model the adjustable one.
Great looking model! I think DWalker is right, it looks like you've used a fairly strong ambient occlution map and darkened/saturdated her skin with it, might be better to ease off that a little bit. You've done REALLY well with that poly limit and map size!
Great start Wasker. I'm going to keep an eye on this one! While I'm just starting out myself, I'm feeling that your floor could use some adjustment to fit the overall temperature of the scene. It's kind of clashing (to me) with the rest of the textures. Keep at it man! :D
