Yes as always, more geo. Maybe not as much as grim has there, but certainly more. Your problem pic looks like its just a lowpoly model with some control edges added, dont try to "optimize" your high.
I use 3ds max and i really recommand getting a plugin for max where you add a line along a ring of lines, like that tool that is standard in maya really helps speed upp highpoly modeling imo. :)
to get good results out of bevel either bevel edges like in the attachement, or delete all the edges that are inside teh same plane, it's easier to add edges afetr the bevel than to fix what the bevel spits out
Hey guys,I am modeling SVV VIntorez and I d like to ask you, how would you improve this polyflow, because I am getting mad about how to achieve some nice polyflow
Woody: Yea I guess I forgot everyone doesn't know what exactly the piece looks like :P hope these pictures help. As for the sharp edges... it's a really bad habit of mine, that I am trying to break.
How would you model a cage for a nice hemisphered capsule ? There's probably been solutions here, didn't find them. I'd like to NOT use spherify. I can kind of manage with 8 sides, gets harder with 16.
@rage288 if Maya can do that with splines, I've never seen it- you get the two 90deg angles trying to blend like you show in your manual gif. It's doable that way, but I'm too anal about skewing.
@Ausonian So simple. Thank you. Just starting out here, every day I feel like an idiot for not seeing the solution. @WaYWO I'll be sure to do that in the future. Thanks for the tip! What's the preferred format for meshes?
Soooo.. have real problems with this mesh. have no real clue how to solve it. if someone could point me in right direction i would be a happy puppy. This one feels like its beyond saving but not really sure.
I'm willing to bet it's been asked dozens of times, but how do people create these shapes in 3Ds Max? I've been using Splines and getting some reasonable results, but I'd like to know if there are potential better methods.
