I understand that your body modelling assignmnet isn't finished yet (i graduated from staffs uni) but there is no real reason for you to have your basemesh on your portfolio (unless it's just there as a placeholder) also for your computer animation you relly need a video rather than a still image. you`ll get out of it what you put in. no course will be perfect. If you have the motivation and drive to learn it all on your own, then do it. I find school helps keep me working. sure, i half ass the assignemnts i dont like, but i put in ALOT on the ones that i do like, and it shows. but, you have to come on sites like… -

okay, but I had a look at max6's applyvc utility, and it comes with maxscript support (max5's doesnt unfortunately). so one could automate this process: bake vc with assignvc modifier, copy vc to uvw which is animated, remove assignvc modifier. you could enter how many frames you want and it will divide time accordingly…
