Later update than I wanted to, but deadlines and rendering were a pain, so I'm posting late in the week. The computer I was able to use had a slightly different version of UE4 and I'm not sure if that's changed anything or not (I tried to look and download the exact version, but it was either this slightly updated one or…
You forgot the link to whatever you're complaining about. I'm assuming it's this? http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/28/auditorium-devs-look-to-kickstarter-for-sequel-funding/ And ergo this? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/761471459/auditorium-2-duet/ Well, first off, they've got a history, which helps. Second of all,…
I think they all kinda have there pros and cons. 3point Shader Pros: - Quality Normals function (Edited this in ;)) - You essentially have 2 environment map slots. Pretty nice for blending cubemaps. You can have a cubemap that is better at solid reflections in one and the other one be the one that has your more interesting…
Hi all, Thanks for the comments. I'll try to answer everyone's questions: Yes the lighting is very flat. This is going to be in-game so I'm not going to waste time lighting it in max. I plan to rough the materials up a bit with some overlays for moss etc. Right now the entire cabin is built from one log material so if I…
Certainly. I have been trying to research the other side of the labor argument. Particularly politicaly organised union-busting industry practices and anti-labor propaganda which might actually issue valid concerns. One particular issue, "Right to Work laws". Where if you are not lucky enough to be employed in one of the…
Thanks u guys for all your kind comments :) That is really motivating to see that you liked it. I would love to put this for download, but I think that it would be unfair towards students who paid to attend the class… So I think I need to preserve some restrictions on the scene content access. Even tho it is my scene it…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Like I said, it's a social, economic and cultural construct that isn't based in genetics in anyway. [/ QUOTE ] So are you saying that docters who say, "you're hispanic so you have a greater risk of diabities" or tell blacks "this drug is particularly effective for black people" are wrong? Or maybe these…
I don't think that the "speed" of the gameplay is the problem, rather it would be more interesting if you focused on faking the speed with interesting battle idle animations. Though rather old, some of the Playstation 1 Era Final Fantasy games may have been slow but avoided looking slow by having fast and fluid animations…
I agree with the earlier comment about moving the props for particular environments to the pages for the environments, and using the props page for independent objects. The text on the props listing the polygon count and texture sizes is a bit hard to read even in the slideshow mode - is there any way you can use larger…
Saidin: This is an interesting question. I always plan to split things up beforehand a little and as I work it becomes clear, that each design is composed of 2 or 3 base elements, so to understand how the object works I finish out those elements more fully than the concept, ie. I build stuff that cant be seen when the…
