i just graduated from Art Institute of Pittsburgh and i can tell you ive had classes with some people that cant draw shhhhhhh1t. but, can model characters pretty well, is it because its easier to move a vert or a poly than a pencil on paper i have no idea...but yea practice and drive is everything. -

It doesn't matter how you make the pictures - we have people scanning pencil drawings where I work and it's not a problem. However, Using 3d and getting stuff in game means you have a much better idea of what your work looks like from the player's perspective so you're more likely to turn out better work and you'd be… -

Yeah, what the 4chan discussion is trying to get at is that it is very easy to get caught up in anatomy (as in, "this muscle insertion goes here") while forgetting how these discrete parts combine into a greater whole - which itself can be simplified/stylized. A common example would be the case of naive pencil drawings… -

The Picker: Orientation palette is where you typically go to change the orientation of a brush. Chances are it is set to Cont-Ori by default, which continuously updates the orientation across the surface of the model.
