do they? physique seems like it's been abandoned for years in favor of skin, biped is quite usable but nowhere near human ik (r.i.p) and standard max bones are a viable option these days, too. use of CS nowadays seems to have more to do with people being familiar with the tool and too lazy/too uninformed about the benefits…
I would approach this by modeling the book closed. Then it will be easier to create your bone structure, since the pages are still in a straight line. To get the pages to deform like you have now, I'd create a spline IK and use the spline to do my animation. Tugging on one CV of the spline should give you that nice curve…
To elaborate, this is not the ankle twist bug, when using FK/IK sliders in CAT, but it happens by just hitting the Animation Mode Button in CAT. In set up Mode: Set up mode Animation Mode: animation mode So if anyone has a solution to this error, i would be eternally grateful. Thanks Scott
well it was not the bug fest that natal was, i dont really like the whole motion control crap, i love sitting on my ass.. but microsoft dint even come close to showing real applictions that you could actually make a game around, they just showed buggy exploding ik and fake videos.
I'd try using a custom spline Ik setup. The only downward/issue I can think of with this solution is the possible lost of shape but I think this can be fixed by using either a shape template to help the animator track the position in space ( bone should move in a arc shape) or use path constraint...

I would like a character to get rigged that I can animate with standard facial/body ctrls but could also work with Mayas HIK tool so I could create a mix of my own body/facial animation by hand keying but then mix in some mocap in parts as well. I would like the rig to have a IK/FK switch for both the arms and legs.
So after a little bit of simple modeling and rigging i have finished this simple rig and it will be up on highend3d in a week. I would love some feed back on it if possible. Note the rig took me 2 days to make and i was trying something different for the IK legs and toes. It is a simple clean rig.
