Too many companies in the uk supply internet though. I pay £150/£160 a year for 20mb & pay as you use landline. £130 of that is line rental. I paid the line rental up front to along with a few other tips/tricks to get it reduced so much. I pay £2.50 a month in total without using the phone, for internet. Talk talk btw. -

Righto. Progress report. Working on the low-poly. Currently sitting at ~9k tris. Jacket is a bit funky, but it should deform okay. I tried the helmet webbing as a mesh, and it bumps the tri count to 13k. Even with a simple little layout. Leaning towards alphas, now :P Few things here and there that could be fixed. Still… -

Most likely it is a bug. I thought it'd be fixed with the 1.2 update. Guess not. I found a way to work around it. I just picked a random metal, changed the mask to blank, changed the color to a tinted window. It won't be see through, so the alpha isn't important as it's a minor thing I'm playing with in a map I'm building.… -

Thanks TomGT! Its about 13k tris with everything you see in the render. We used proxy meshes that can be used over and over where we sculpt different details but bake down to a specific set of reusable meshes. The one I used here for the robe has draping geo all the way down like a skirt that I alphad out in the front. -

Not ancient, but it should be able to play on a 3 year old mid-range system. As of now, this would be about a 1.2 GHZ machine with a Geforce 3 or so. I don't know what alpha overdraw is... all I know is that performance is over 38 FPS in the Sandbox 2 editor with a 9800GTX; and performance is worse in the editor than it is in-game. On Very High settings, it stays steadily at 1.2 million tris and 25-30 FPS (still talking about in-editor). It definitely performs better… -
