I'm sure Autodesk are working hard on Viewport 2.0 (when actual fact it's more like Viewport 0.2 in its current state!) but time will tell. Log a sug, the more logged the faster Maya's new Viewport will be developed: http://autodesk.com/maya-sug
Definitely check up on Keen's Batch Exporter. It saves tons of time by centering each selected object, reseting the positions to 000 (based on objects pivot point) and exporting each asset based on whatever their names are in max. http://www.keenleveldesign.com/html/misc/exporter.htm
removed the link, it was an artificial benchmark test (48 to 48 000 sided circle) to prove the adversary effect of thin triangles on performance NOT suggesting to use certain layouts for "caps" of low poly, with so little geometry at hands interpolation artifacts are much more dominant...
Yeah man, boards of canada kick ass, one of the few idm bands i like. more danko jones. this time from the 2002 album Born A Lion Danko Jones - Play the blues [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQAlyfXCxJk[/ame]
I use a handmedown cell from my mom, the sleek i80s from 2002. I've had it for nearly 5.5 years. This byitchphone is so cool it doesn't even fold in half. post count of protection = (I am godlike for the next 30 seconds)
I have used 3dsmax and maya since 2002 ish, so I am not really a Blender fan boy, but it is pretty solid these days and I am sure will go from strength to strength. I use it most of the time, but try and keep up to date with maya also, since both the Arnold and vray addons for blender do not really work last time I looked…
I'm working on a high poly model of a Jumo 004 jet engine. It's an early jet engine that was used on Me262's. Aside from the cylinders, it's filled with many 'unique' shapes and is making for a fun exercise. This is a work in progress, I'll post as more is completed. And this one of the references:
Here's some progress on his retopo. The model on the Right his his older model from last year. I was inspired by Mickey Mouse's shoes from KH 0.2. Here is a wip of his jacket's bake.
Squashed how so? From Copywrite issues? I helped work on a 007 mod for Half Life 2, and it never had any issues. It was even published in Game Informer like 4-5 years ago.
You got it dude, I do more research and notice it way too extreme, I'll fix that. Btw by "vert" u mean the vertex count?..it display on the screenshot, its at 1.316 verts, 702 polys. _Revel
