@Aluvay It's starting to look really nice! I'll use this as reference when I'll be doing plants and stuff for my scene, the plantlife looks really nice. I think you could maybe improve some things : maybe have some grass hanging on the edge of the platform, to cover up the seam. Persoanlly I'm not a big fan of bloom…
I recorded myself painting up an asset a few weeks ago, to share workflows and tips with the other artists I work with, as part of a growing-through-sharing culture we have at Space Ape. Anyway, I've just done a quick audio recording for it, and stuck it up on youtube, to see if the wider community would benefit from it.…
Hey There! I decided that it was too long ago that I did some actual hand painted stuff. So I figured a weapon would be a nice way to get back into it. Let me know what color variation you prefer! Viewers on artstation! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e6VXZ Everything is painted in Photoshop and modeled in Maya I used a…
The textures you see on the model are 2048 x 2048 I painted that high so I could lower it and it would still look good. I wasn't 100% sure how I was going to do things when I started. But my computer could handle it fine. Alpha masking makes it look uglier :/ I think the issue is I need to separate all/most of the objects…
@dennispls: I've been looking at your progress with this scene and I think your texturing base is very solid and it has quite a good bit of color variation but the scene in it's whole is missing something that brings it all together. This is my intuition talking ;) Maybe it's just the lack of shadows and AO so nothing…
Here is a little exercise I made for fun. I didn't want to start a big project yet so I thought a quick fantasy prop would feel great. This one is enterly hand-painted. Tricount is 2500 tris. I used a 1K map for the tower, one 512 map fortrees&rocks and a 512 map for the ground. It gives +10% texturing speed bonus plus…
thank you Kelvin! and great job too XD love his eyes! this is the retexture I started a few months back and put aside, I really loved working with the colors and decided to finish it! colors inspired by Ruan Jia! <3 i started a Patreon that is being focused on 2d and 3d character art, and studies, it's going to mainly be…
Woah! Great stuff everyone. I am learning how to paint textures myself and I see this thread as a treasure trove for those who want to observe, dissect and learn(Why on Earth does that sounds so dotor-ish? ). I always wondered what is it that defines BL style. Bold lines or over saturated colors or lighting. Whatever it…
