is there any way to have a mesh with no backface cast a shadow? ive got a bunch of wall pieces that are meant for an interior, and light just goes right through them. a small fix ive got for that is to just build up a BSP wall around the inside of the walls.. but thats a bit tedious. any suggestions?
That might be true. Still, might it be possible that the brightness on your monitor is low? Because now that it is early in the morning, the sun is coming through my windows and hitting my monitors--monitors whose brightness was turned all the way down from last night--and I can definitely see what you mean. Of course,…
I've given myself a massive headache over the past few months with trying to get GLSL to work and I'm finally ready to ask for help. I am using vertex brightness to darken the models based on what room they are in, so each vertex is darkened to room[x].light if model is within boundaries of room[x]. The goal is to apply…
You need to simulate sky lighting by adding emissive meshes to windows. Then just make them b_hidden in game/ As well adding post process volume with custom tonemap scale will give you right exposure. What you could try is making your exterior looking right with the low tonemap scale (0,5), and use post process volume with…
Thank you for a detailed answer. The angle might look more natural with a camera without such a high focal length (under 100mm), and you're right about the HDRI/light setup. I think the fresnel falloff is what will make a huge difference in the reflections, because they are currently too sharp and fake because everything…
@klamante: Looks schweet! Great work. I like how the hand painting blends the overlapping faces / separation of the focus gear mount to the body of the binoculars. @Pep_mepla: Good start so far. I noticed a few missing parts, though you mentioned it's still in progress so anyways. Just a thing to keep in mind is things…
Spent lots of time experimenting with several variations of lights setup but it just kept getting more distracting and finlly simplified it and landed on this and am liking where this is going. I realized that I already had and incense stick holder next to the plant and just added a stick and lit it up. added some ghost…
Figured I'd get some progress up, nothing to fancy just kinda jumping around working on various high poly bits not really focusing on one particular piece for too long (just one of those days). Haven't done anything too detailed yet... Might jump on that door tomorrow since there's not as much to interpret, can just bang…
