The problems on the PC were fixed by installing the Rage optimized video driver from ATI. That made the textures crystal clear (well, as clear as they ever get - I mean the extreme blurry stuff is fixed) and I have yet to see any blurryness - and I WAS seeing it everywhere. Try it if you have an ATI card!…
I hope as well that we can have two teams pitting against each another, with themes as: - Sci. Fi vs Fantasy (robots and spacemen vs paladins and magic) - Ice vs Fire (Crystal-like vs cracky lava) - Sweet vs Sour (Puppies in tanks vs bitter old men in modified wheelchairs) ...you get my drift. :)
Work has been very full on, so the thought of sitting and doing personal art has not been appealing - until today. Dusting off an old project, the Crystal Gems house! I cringe at how old this piece is, but there was a lot of potential to work with, so I stripped the textures and started again. Not a lot to show today, but…
Hey all, throwing some ideas out here to see what the crowd thinks. I've been messing around with the theme of petrified wood, and here's what I've got so far. Pretty rough sketch; concept art is an improvement area for me. Critique and suggestions are welcomed, of course. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Some reference…
Final project for Game Art 1 is complete! Had so much fun jumping into UE4 to bring this concept to life, and learned a lot along the way. I have a newfound love not just for foliage, but crystals as well--if that is not evident enough in this piece! I look forward to continuing to work on this project over the summer…
Nice have you tried to double the crystal in marmoset and do an add in the transparencies? Shit you could probably do somethign like that on the glass too... just don't tell anyone the poly count of the extra stuff if you are worried about showing it off for game oriented stuff. Check out that glass of milk tutorial on the…
Haha cool ! Well so far I found this : http://download.allegorithmic.com/tutorials/substance/english/substance_designer_1.1-user_guide.pdf I think eventually it would be great to see detailled transcripts of the video tutorials. It would allow users to easily search through them for specific items. The following is a very…
I've been bad about updating this. I've been settling in at Crystal still and the long commute makes it hard to do work when I get home late. Here's some stuff I've done the past week - some Fallout fan art. Always been a huge fan, and I loved the Nuka Cola Challenge in FO3 so I used that as inspiration.
Unfortunately not anymore, I kind of lost motivation for it. I got my job at Crystal shortly after I started this and since I work on a game with ancient ruins, tombs, ect it makes it hard to come home and work on stuff like this. I have a new scene that I have been working on a bit over the past month or so that I will…
I believe that rock is zink sulfide ore, which would make it a dielectric or an insulator. Sulfide compounds don't conduct electricity but they might take the form of shiny crystals. Not everything shiny is a metal. You could polish coal to make it look shiny but it would still be a dielectric material. EDIT: Actually it's…
