click the ... next to ambient occlusion and increase the rays/samples. It will take longer but cleaner results something like 256-512 is fine

No, you can import rectangular textures too but you need the resolutions to be powers of 2. Like 64, 128, 512 etc.

you're paying for the pressure levels, bamboo has 512 levels, intuos has 2048. if you can afford it, go for an intuos.

@RobeOmega - The texture sizes had a few dependencies they ranged from 512 to 2k in size. Most were 1024.

Use the high pass filter, set it about 24 for a 512 texture, and use a separate layer with a solid color to fix the hue/color.
