@MDK and CottonWings - huge thanks for the support on that I am always worried the polycount feedback =] Well, i tried something towards that couple days ago, i got all the videos of my stream while doing the relic sword and exported to youtube. but 2 of them twitch cant export, i dont know why ... Since they accepted my…
Hi everybody! I'm looking at some awesome stuff so far, everyone. This is my first Polycount post, I hope I'm placing this on the right place. I'm Daniel "Danidem" Lucanu and I work as concept artist. I'm looking for 3D artists to collaborate at the Dota 2 Workshop. I simply love the Dota 2 Art style as well as the game…
So now that Rubick is officially in the workshop I decided to revisit the first 3d model I ever made :) This time as a full set, hopefully this time around I'll be able to make better textures. Here's the workshop link to the original Here's what I managed to block out so far, I figured I should get some feedback before I…
Hi everyone. Here's some work I've been doing for a Dark Seer set. I've been having some problems getting the textures to display inside the client as they do in viewport. I've just started using the dota2 hero shader 2.0 instead of a previous cgfx shader that wasn't giving very accurate results. Comparing the existing…
I've been having a billion rigging issues and this solved all of them. Thanks! Awesome design. My only worry would be that the lotus designs might be too small to see even in the portrait view, especially with the low resolution textures. I've finished the Rubick set I posted a blockout of awhile back. I like how it turned…
You may just have to retopologize both pieces together as a single mesh, it'll probably be a bit tricky but you should be able to get it under the poly limit without having to redesign it. The set looks awesome, let us know how you get on! I've been working on a custom spiderling based on a jumping spider but I've hit a…
Mirroring certainly can be used for Dota 2. In fact it's probably quite encouraged as your UVs can then be mirrored and overlapped, which means you get effectively double the texture space. This can be a huge difference when working with such small texure sizes. In general I use the mirror function no matter what I am…
Hey guys, you might remember me from a while ago. Probably not, I never did very much. Well, I'm back! With a vengeance! The polycount contest left me a little disheartened, frankly. I felt kind of un-motivated throughout and especially after, I couldn't find the will to make something when I knew it'd just be buried under…
Jeez. I'm right here, you can just ask. :) @aivanov: If they added the head slot due to the WIP shots of my rubick set, they did not contact me about it. I actually was upset about it at first because without warning I suddenly had to redo huge portions of my set. So I have no idea if that's the case or not. @marul:…
No I haven't, and yep, that's some sexualized male armor all right. At least they're equal-opportunity about it. I can't say the same for the majority of games out there though; which is partially why game playing demographics are so male dominated. Something I'm hoping will change soon. No need to be rude. There's…
