Here are a few shots from Marmoset of something I'm currently busy with - The head is just a random doodle of mine I had laying around but the hair was transferred from an entirely different mesh I'm actually working with (Daz 3D). I'm quite happy how that turned out (via surface deform). Some minor bugs still need…
Thanks! I'm trying to do both interior and exterior. So far I have the interior walls as a separate mesh from the exteriors and i'm hiding the edges with wooden support beams. Personally, I've only had experience with Mudbox but from what I've seen, Mudbox provides transferable skills that are expanded in Zbrush. I do…
Hey if this topic is still valid, and if you're using the scanline renderer don't forget to keep the supersampler as 2.5 star in the RTT options and turn off antialiasing and filter map in the render options. Turning it off did the trick for me. For example I had a very noisy normal map, when I tried to transfer the same…
Yes. It's the transfer from actual cost to no cost that change our approach to the decision-making process, as in now there is no decision to make: If you were ok with pirating something you could now just have it. The indie bundle is interesting, by allowing the consumer to control the cost, they would use their own…
Apparently, Layer drop down menu is easily transferred between floating to main toolbar. I notice that only Selection Sets drop down gonna "corrupted" when you try to move it (alt+drag) somewhere else and to restore it back you need to load the default UI. Hope Autodesk fix this issues in the next hotfix/ service pack.…
Looking nice so far. The edges on the magazine might be a little hard and thus not transfer very well to the low poly. The barrel might also be a little too square and the sights a little large. I am not a gun guy so disregard what I said if I am wrong. I am going just based on some quick googlin.
I suggest you get a traditional degree in art, something like painting, sculpture or illustration/graphic design. It'll be cheaper, the skills are transferable and you can learn the 3D side by yourself. Digital Tutors do great (but very slow-paced) DVDs for absolute beginners, while the likes of Eat3D and Gnomon deal with…
Not that I've ever heard of. I know you can transfer animations between bipeds, but I've never seen a way to put a skeleton to biped. I've learned a few things in my time, and one of them is that sometimes its faster and easier to do something over than to try to fix or work around it. In this case, I'd just re-skin the…
All of our artists are virtual, but certainly if you are looking at a local studio, being physically there is a plus... but I doubt it is worth the cost of living of LA. I don't know the numbers and LA is huge, so where you live will massively impact that cost. Basically I'd do some research as that transfer may be a…
Check and see if you have topmost layer called "Normal Scaler" in your normal PSD. If you don't, that's why your normals look like that. I've had my Normal Scaler layer get transferred to another map channel before - I'm not entirely sure what causes it, though. Put it back where it belongs and it should fix that part of…
