When I had to do interfaces, I always did it on paper in the form of a hierarchy, plastered it all over the wall. But this was after the programmers gave me what functions were to be available to the end user. I then took the functions and grouped them 3 or 4 times on cards. From there they usually had some kind of idea of…
for ambient lighting have you considered trying to implement crysis' volumetric texture gi implementation? i am unsure if such a thing could scale to the size that your going for though. have you thought about trying to introduce other procedural elements like thermal erosion, or adding a node based procedural terrain…
If they haven't used zbrush before, probably one of the best things you could have them do is just spend 20 minutes or so reading the Getting Started PDF, and another couple of minutes making sure they soaked it all in. They'll be needlessly confused if they think they're jumping into a 3d scene, orbiting a camera around a…
I think you're right. Also, when you get into full production mode on such a huge scale, and have to blow up the team sizes, maybe it would be smart to in-house contract the positions. So they know that after the game is done it's time to move on. I know that has it's issues too, But really, It's wrong to hire somebody at…
Looking good! Really, the only thing that stands out to me is that the green reflective material on the crashed ship seems not to be cemented into the environment fully. Like, I want to see some reflections from the dirt and wreckage where it meets the floor... somehow make the environment around it effect its surface a…
Small update this time. mikezoo - Thanks! Yeap.. definitely can clean it up a lot more. For this doorway I cut the front piece this way cause the vertex lighting was making it look really weird before Zbrush, but after it's not so bad. As for the arch, this doorway is an example of the kind of detail I'm going for in…
YOu'll cycle thru the layers of polygons if you keep clicking in the same spot. With the first click it tries its best to figure out what you want, the second click it goes one layer under it, and so on for each additional click. Sometimes you have to cycle all the way though to get back on top. sucks I know but thats how…
Got 20 years of riding under my belt and several of those years I rode over 80 days a season. I'd take you riding here in the PNW but I'm out due to a stress fracture in my left foot for at least a month. Some decent suggestions here but PM me and I can give you a rundown of where to hit and what to hit based on your skill…
Vampyre_Dark: I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the 'bordering' D: Bal: I would pretty much punch myself in the face if they made FF6 for DS, simply because nothing else could express my joy. Ziodyne: I think this would just be a generic magitek soldier - if he was a named character I'd probably give him a more unique…
i'm currently part of the core tester program, and i've played since launch. i suffered through the era where european players were forced into GOA service, and i'm still playing now that mythic have taken full control. there's a full scale rvr pack coming soon (not an expansion, really... just massive changes). i still…
