Seeing as I'm no fan of the original movie, I can still imagine this might turn out very good. Probably because this is more of a horror film, than an action movie.
I'm with Sectaurs on this. I think people would be more caught up in the horror rather than the message :/ It did have me feeling bad for the suffocated little guy though.
I think it's a serious game, so fun isn't on the top of the agenda.. Great way to experience and relate the horrors of war if it works. Art looks fairly good!
The environment is ment for a horror game, i looked at resident evil and tried to mimic it. It'd be nice to have a warm lightsource and still have it look creepy though

Seems a little wide open for a horror set, I really like the grate/pipes on the bottom though. Maybe put a solid beam crossing the grate once per modular piece.
