@Sunn: Here are some tutorials. If you'll take some time you'll be able to find some youtube videos. Search for concept art or illustration videos regarding color / color choices. Some stuff from deviantart How to choose colors How to unify colors A little theorie (color = mood) Beside that you can get great color paletts…
Hey AnnelienH, I think this is really coming along and I love the gear animation underneath! I do have to agree with you though that you could totally push the metal further. And I know League of Legends is definitely a slightly different art style than WoW. But Yekaterina Bourykina gave a breakdown of her Captain Fortune…
Woah! Great stuff everyone. I am learning how to paint textures myself and I see this thread as a treasure trove for those who want to observe, dissect and learn(Why on Earth does that sounds so dotor-ish? ). I always wondered what is it that defines BL style. Bold lines or over saturated colors or lighting. Whatever it…
@AntonioNeves fucking amazing texture work man. I attempted to re-create a house you made a while back. [sketchfab]a7aa378e1d5347f59d58190dc9de25bb[/sketchfab] Hand-Painted Home (based on concept) by therealmarkehlen on Sketchfab my color texture made a second set of UVs for light mapping. baked from blender, mixed in Ps I…
I'd say the shadow color you have right now is kind of weird.. did you also play around with the roughness? It looks like your black get's completely washed out by the specularity. When I'd paint a rock.. I'd do at least 2-3 layers of shadow. 1 for the very deep and dark parts and another in between gradient to the base…
Hi Everyone I just finished a hand painted Bomb Thrower for one of my assignments. I tried to work in the same style as WoW but I noticed I was struggling quite a bit with the metal. My metal is a bit more realistic then the more rough and stylized way in WoW and I just couldn't get it right. Does anyone have any…
Submitted my entry to the Sketchfab weekly challenge (#GameBoyChallenge), having went with an antique wooden style. I experimented with using Zbrush first in an attempt to sculpt a detailed wood texture onto a high-res model, then used Substance Painter to bake some texture maps including the normal map to get the starting…
great job everyone! I hope you all had a great christmas! @JOSEGR Nice props man, my advice is to reduce the table and approach the objects, this is what I would to do... the bottle is very funny :) @TOMENJERRY Hi man, I love those ground textures, I really like them, keep it up! @MMKH Hey man, good to see you practicing,…
@felipealves I love the style on the bathroom, the wonky handles for the broom and plunger work well but maybe could do with a bit more colour variation. @Savannakhet Lovely scene, i've been wanting to do a similar style, i love this good use of bold colours. Reminds me of one of my favorite low poly artist, Kenneth Fejer.…
I've been hoping for a thread like this! I had considered creating one myself, but wasn't sure it would take off very well. :poly122: Anyways, here's my most recent hand-painted stuff! I had dusted off my old favorite game Quake 3 recently, and made a couple of new skins for it. Or, to be more accurate, they are redone,…
