i have another problem with arnold in maya... i want to instance a light but when i apply duplicate special to light nothing happen...only it creat a pivot without any object linked to it...
I dont really have a light setup, just one of the HDR probes that ship with Modo, and then no additional lights at all. regarding size of the rocket launcher, arnold have a thing or two to say about that!
Lookssick man. What did you render this with? I know you said the hair is Xgen, so was it rendered in Arnold? Also, is all of that hair in the beard the same color, or are there grays and other colors mixed in?
I heard James Cameron wanted Chuck Norris to play the Terminator. However, upon reflection, he realized that would have turned his movie into a documentary, so he went with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
i watched the first 15 minutes and it is already much better. as far as i can remember they mostly just cut out all of Arnolds cheesey one-liners and made it an all action scene.
It doesn't have to be Unreal, it's just that engine is widely known and is easy to setup good lighting and materials. Main thing is having assets work with PBR and rendered in real-time (UE5) as opposed to say Arnold or KeyShot.
Here is a listing of all the additional long-running Substance threads : * Substance Designer - Release Notes * Substance Painter - Release Notes * 3DS max to Substance Painter * Learning resources * Substance Maya Toolset * PBR converter to Corona/Redshift/Arnold
Thanks alot for the help! I still couldnt ge the result i wanted through Arnold so I opted for zbrush/photoshop in the interest of time. I will definately get back on it and learn the ropes down the line though.
You really don't need that much GPU power if you're going to be rendering with V-Ray or Arnold, though it's still a good to have. Go with the single card, I hear too many compatibility issues with SLI happening.
Justin, have you tried distracting the guards with turrets and mechs? I like to pick off enemies using the rifle when they're busy dealing with a hulking robot shooting at them. That was the closest I got to a Arnold run.
