@AntonioNeves: Wow that is some really great work. Having a bit of a reflection and would like to ask all the great people of polygon their opinion on my textures. Ive been trying to hand paint textures for a while now and have followed along with the videos of Jamin Shoulet taking a class. Are my textures…
Wow! Thanks for the nice comments :) I have to admit it isn't my first attempt on handpainting something. But I do think it is my best result so far. However when looking at it myself, I think it lacks some bigger forms and is a bit too noisy here and there. I read the handpainted texture tutorial in 'Vertex', found on…
I guess you're in luck! :poly108: When working on the hair, I was trying out a new method, so I diligently saved out layers in order to record my process. In the end, the method was a bit excessive, perhaps. To be specific, I used a pixel art workflow throughout most of the process, because I was trying to have as much…
Don't be afraid or ashamed. I think you'll learn from sharing your stuff! As long someone will take some time and give you some feedback! @CougarJo: Really sweet work! I like that second one you posted, that damaged paint looks great! But I think you could darken that black gummi part of the handle a little to seperate it…
I recorded myself painting up an asset a few weeks ago, to share workflows and tips with the other artists I work with, as part of a growing-through-sharing culture we have at Space Ape. Anyway, I've just done a quick audio recording for it, and stuck it up on youtube, to see if the wider community would benefit from it.…
yay great job on those Deoce! :D ANTONIONEVES, awesome job on that lumber mill and all those wood textures! nice job on your Tyrande VanLogan! turpedo, like i said on WAYWO, love those! it's been a while since i've been in here, so much awesome work, great job guys! :D finished up my Captain Fortune fan art a few days ago…
Rocket Brian: ace! :D skylebones: looks great! I might suggest keeping the texture resolutions about the same, because the dagger and the metal skull looks reaaly sharp and with nice texture resolution, but right behind it the ropes are blurry, and the shovel seems to be blurry aswell! but otherwise nice work! soo here are…
The textures you see on the model are 2048 x 2048 I painted that high so I could lower it and it would still look good. I wasn't 100% sure how I was going to do things when I started. But my computer could handle it fine. Alpha masking makes it look uglier :/ I think the issue is I need to separate all/most of the objects…
Here is a little exercise I made for fun. I didn't want to start a big project yet so I thought a quick fantasy prop would feel great. This one is enterly hand-painted. Tricount is 2500 tris. I used a 1K map for the tower, one 512 map fortrees&rocks and a 512 map for the ground. It gives +10% texturing speed bonus plus…
thank you Kelvin! and great job too XD love his eyes! this is the retexture I started a few months back and put aside, I really loved working with the colors and decided to finish it! colors inspired by Ruan Jia! <3 i started a Patreon that is being focused on 2d and 3d character art, and studies, it's going to mainly be…
