This. 100%. Always have everything in writing from the get go. Seriously. I cannot stress how important contracts and legal binding documents can be for us as game artists/developers, its business and should be treated like so, even if close friends.
Man- In all my final crunch week stress I nearly forgot about this! Just thinking about having this to look forward to after it's all done is relaxing! Ahhhh :) Edit: oh damn, yeah, we still need to settle on a venue! :I
Im not stressed. Not sure how this assumption has come up. Was just curious where the line is for how high up a first job can be. Job descriptions just seem misleading, when the job itself could be quite flexible. (so it may seem)
I need to stress that those low end gpus are a rip off in general and a real waste for 3d and rendering. I'd recommend just using onboard graphics for a month or 2 instead of wasting £60 on one. The 1660 is pretty much around a good base entry level card for 3d that's not going to be very problematic in some way.
Hey just popping in to say don't get scared and go back to basics, you will ofc make more mistakes with complex animation, but you should absolutely push yourself with difficult human animation. (Not saying it isn't useful to go and do basic tests sometimes but generally always make animation you find difficult and…
man i love those effects and the gameplay looks great, though i'm just to old for this stress, but i have to save the color direction is really not my thing, why is it all so greyish and why are the background fighting with the foregrounds fo attention? focus should be on the actual figh/characters, sometimes its really…
Yep. I think people in this industry would be wise to be ready for the worst come shipping time...which is a bit unfair really. Having to plan for that on top of having the stress of finishing the game is a bit much. I think people should even fear it if there is another game in the pipeline, cause it takes time for…
This x 100. I love the process and I stress to anyone looking to join the industry to truly love the process as well. Without it, it's just another job. When the honeymoon phase is over (and it's over fast), it's still a 9-5 job. Love it or find something that you do love or you risk become "that disgruntled employee."
Hahaha, yeah he does look a lot like the guy in the book. I didn't let that stress me too much since I was trying to learn and if he looked like the guy in the book, then maybe I was doing something right. I'll get to work on the legs and the traps. Thanks man! Have a good weekend.
I'm sorry this is a bit of thread-necro, but I am also having this exact problem and it's stressing me the hell out. I'm currently just reinstalling UDK after trying a variety of "soft" solutions first. I'll attempt the AV test next if it still doesn't work, I'll get back to you with my results.
