I used to do 3d floor plans as freelance work, and developed a fast workflow that allowed frequent edits as requested by the client. Oak looks better. I would go bigger with the texture though, bigger branch but try not to have too much leaves in it - too dense = doesn't stack well and you cant build up good volume. try to get more angles and color variations in it - a set of 3 different leaves is usually enough to break it up. I really like the idea of the scarred eye being blind, exactly how it is now, but maybe give the other eye a pupil. Nice idea bronto.
