Vertex book has some great tutorials about hand painting. Download it for free. http://www.artbypapercut.com/ Check these links too: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1515379&postcount=170 And finally, take a look at Dota Texturing guide:…
You can export to HLSL 3, HLSL 5, CGFX 3, GLSL 1.2 and GLSL 4. But it really depends on where you are taking the shader if the format it outputs to will be useful. E.g. if you want to load it into a game engine, the hand exported shader may need to be edited to work in that engine.
Update on the textures, and less polys this time around. Just above 17k now with all the accessories, less than 15 k without them. Some more specmapping going on, the boots still need some more pronounced and sharp dirt, and various parts are still in need of much love :]
I have the AL1916W and would give it a 5 out of 5. It is VERY bright and clear. It had one dead pixel, though (no biggie). I paid $170 US for it 2 years ago. I would recommend ACER monitors, don't know about whatever other products they have.
$250 is what, around £170 these days? You should be able to get something, but not something fantastic. If you are not an audiophile (I'm not), then you'll be more than happy with the sound. My first 5.1 setup was an all in one job that cost £100 and I knew it was cheap, but it still sounded good to me.
Update 1.2 Ended last week with replacing all placeholders in the scene, and creating highpoly models for the scaffolding. Also, I decimated and imported the pieces into UE4. Other obligation cut into the time I had to work further, but starting this week I should be able to make more progress. One of my goals for the week…
Ah great. I found one (intuos3 a4 special edition) on the marketplace here (like a dutch craigslist) that's being asked 175 for. Just asked him for some pictures to see if it's not in a state where it's hold together with tape haha. Are there any things i should really look for. Like things that really matter if they are…
You could try it the same way like in Photoshop. Put a color adjutment on the blue channel of the secondary Normalmap and reduce the output range from 0-255 to 0-127. You can simply overlay it now without affecting the base blue value of the underlaying normalmap. I hope this works, need a cup of coffee first to start my…
Id like to suggest getting some paper/Pencil/Pen/Ruler and go out and draw some vehicles in perspective. http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?190982-Tons-of-Tutorials-Guides-and-More!-(178-links) Also check this out if you haven't already. The assignments 1-9 under fundamentals are a good perspective practice Good…
calibrated monitor here as well and these images are indeed too dark. the luminance seems to have been clamped. the brightest brights are at ~70% luminance. just open the 3rd image (since it has both lights and shadows) in PS and check histogram-luminosity. you will see that the highest value peaks at ~170 which is roughly…
