Putting spec in alpha channel as pointed out means greyscale spec also means pain in the ass to edit, no layer support so you have to keep making edits to your spec elsewhere and then cutting pasting into the alpha channel. Most of the 1155 mobos support up to 32gb of ram via 4x 8gb sticks. 8gb sticks are crazy expensive ($300+ for a single stick), but 16gb via 4x 4gb isn't exactly a small amount either. You wont see tripple channel memory again until LGA2011 boards are released somewhere between Q3 this year and Q1 2012 -
