Taking a small break as I hack away on my next piece. I think your new version is great! I would say your decision to change it up has benefited it a lot. Not just as an artistic piece with nicer color balance but it helps you stand out from the same-ol stuff we've seen before. UT has seen many maps with fire and one with…
Hi all! Long time since my last update. This time I wanted to sculpt some textures and create a UE4 material that blends those. It was a pretty fun to work with these textures. I got some inspiration from the Stalker (1979) (awesome movie btw) and decided to create a wet, muddy looking textures. I tried to work as clever…
Don't worry Braxer holidays are allowed :P Thanks for the nice comments guys. For me what distinguishes really good work from great work are these final touches. They are not a lot of work but are basic fundamentals of art. I need to produce more current work with this stuff too. Never underestimate the improvements a good…
Hey guys, I'm back. I got an animation rendered out and posted on youTube. It's not the greatest quality - I messed around with SoftImage's render settings for at least an hour and I still can't get it to look pretty. The animation is supposed to be a mindless wander - no living in sight to eat, so it just kinda shambles…
Awesome guys! Working on some wood props now. The scene I put up there was just a quick blockout, and threw in some old textures I made. The final scene will have a lot of raw wood in it. The floor will be wood too. I guess I'll worry about lighting after I make my scene, it seems more logical now thinking about it. Prop…
aaaa thanks pior you're awesome!!! and just to follow up on my part, resources i found: QC syntax and Particle Positioning Potential QC example from some thread more potential formatting examples Whenever you decompile a model, you are given a qc file For example, my shadow demon qc file named "mdldecompiler.qc"$cd…
Thanks Rmunday, here are the wireframes of the bike. I apologise for not doing a proper render and just providing a screen grab but it should be clear enough. Info: 190k polys. Obviously, it hasn't been optimised, with the final render having turbosmooth on. If I were to add it to an engine I'd have to do some serious work…
Just found this. This is just crazy detailed work. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?189837-Portrait-of-JFK This is what I am aiming for. Does anyone have an idea how he went about texturing this? I have a feeling he used ZBrush polypaint. Cause there is no way any app can support that high level of detail?? He…
It's great to hear how easy it is to get things up and running in unity. Like Kwramm I'd be interested in picking up one of the 1920x1080 versions. Seems like the current hardware resolution is too low to the point that you easily notice that everything is made of pixels, which kinda breaks the point of VR.
