What do you guys usually use to animate for games? i have characters human & animal to animate & put in to "Unity" engine Is it better to do bones/ biped since it already put an IK setup for the human char? any pro/ cons for each?? thx
Sorry for my poor English. https://vimeo.com/70415689?ref=em-v-shareThis video, reflected in 12 seconds, is the control of the tentaclesConsidering exporting to the game engine, is it still mainstream to set up with Spline IK? Please tell me if there are any other good methods, tutorials etc!
oh got it, so by any chance know some place I can get into advance IK FK stuff without max script coding? I found few on youtube lets see what I can do with those but I doubt it would be anything close to this.
@Hito, i see, i see, Can 3D animation really be done with Simple movement? 15 minutes, interesting indeed. (scrap) Update: So this it eh world of 3D animation, Going to problem solve a bit more. but im learning so much. FK/IK Transition.
Huh! So it could be that simple. I initially thought of having it set to IK but you bring up an interesting point. I think it will work. Plus, I will still be able to animate the arm as well so I can make sure it is pivoting from the same spot. Thanks!
So by the the name of the missing script, I doubt you would have any human ik scripts needed to import a prop obj. Try to import the file from 3d coat into a new Maya scene. Also check out the outliner to see what nodes are or aren't imported.
You want to grab just the deformation joints and the meshes and do a export selection. You don't want to be exporting all of the controllers and extra IK/FK joints. But you would have a lot of other problems if your skeleton and mesh are separating like that...
ah well i misjudged most of that then lol and yeah ik about fpsc i was tryin to say im camo from the boards lol. And mind showing the gun in fpsc? from my experiance fpsc tends to make things more noisy :/
there is still a lot max used in games... character animation is more and more maya based cause of the better integration of human ik.... the link to motionbuilder... for modeling it doesnt matter that much which app you use... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vKkHHphGEY
He doesn't even know how to code yet and your friend is recommending he focus on IK and spring physics? Good lord... I agree that the stuff he mentioned is great for making games but, geez, let's walk before we run.
