Try looking up Joe Mad's artwork. Like War, his other characters tend to have extreme proportions and gear that you could draw inspiration from. I would say your problem is that you're playing it too safe - by making a human hand that is lightly armoured. Even if you pushed out the armor plating, it's just going to be a…
Okay, sounds good. When you say armor in the hard surface app do you mean like a base of the armor, or all of the armor (zippers, accessories, etc.) Thanks for the tips guys I hope I can sort things out a bit more after retopologizing. Here's the finished product.
Thanks for the feedback Dimfist. I am thinking about redesigning the bracer tonight to make the armor a bit more cohesive, but I was also exploring the idea of different armor types, as if he had just found awesome armor throughout his years on the battlefield and just picked up and used what he liked.
Going to have to agree with Rhinokey and Snader. It seems you've skipped the forms all over. The chest armor for example: looking at spartan armor on google, you should be able to see how yours is off. The general shape is there, but yours looks more like a female corset thing than a spartan's chest armor at the moment.
Nice progress so far. It's a good start. I like the idea, but I think you may need to sit down and really define your character before going any further. If your aiming for blizzard quality it's key to really tell a story with the visual elements of your character. I see "a person in an armor suit" when I look at your…
The sub-d modeling of the armor is looking really nice... But please follow the advice given in previous posts about blocking it all out first. Key word being "All". Make a fairly simple nude version of the character, like the way you started with the legs and then block out the rest of the armor ontop of that and go back…
[ QUOTE ] The damage needs tweaking, its too heavy. I know they mentioned this in an interview that they were upping it, but its ridiculous. Double Damage is pointless if you have a rocket launcher. Pretty much tears through 50 armor and 100 health in one shot and you can queue 3 rockets : / Couldn't last in a tank for…
looking sweet slaught . I think your definition of details in the face are too strong. It's amazing that you almost lined up the wiremesh perfectly o_O haha. But yea its looking good except for the extreme definition in the face. Now start with the "rough/dark" areas and it will REALLY bring your skin together. I also…
Stunning work! I look forward to seeing the entire armor set textured. :) I'm curious, how did you tackle the gauntlet armor and ready it for real-time? Did you create each finger armor piece separately and as HP first? Or LP first & duplicate the index finger mesh to have overlapping UVs?
I think the progress is looking great. but I think your right about the damage on the armor. Right now to me anyway it looks like the armor and clothing looks too similar, I think smoothing out the armor some more can make give that distinctive look but its coming along great keep it up.
