Mods don't have to include environments. They could be purely code as an example. No giant amount of data to distribute there. Like what? Most of the modded titles around now are 5 years old, or even older. With what remains it's largely Source that retains a sizeable community (though Crysis is still dragging its feet).…
@ivanzu : Thanks for the feedback. I'm really new to Maya and as you can see the island mesh is very unstable. The top of it is barely UV mapped ( hence the lack of texturing )and I'm dreading the day I'll have to redo it ( Tomorrow *shudder* ). @PryZern : Me too! I'm still thinking about it. I'm imagining the character…
Thanks man :) I did in fact do it in CYMK...i believe i set the dpi properly but now you have me worried, ill check that tomorrow...i dont expect to have it printed by christmas, so ill get it adjusted asap if its not Appreciate the critique and ill see what i can do...there are still some fine details id like to work in…
Yea it's kind of tricky and you have to play with it, I find that cutting under the chin like you said will help the face from bunching up, but then weld it back together. Sometimes a selection of verts will sometimes relax better than an entire shell. It also helps to turn on soft selection, grab a few verts like around…
Those are some awesome models! Really great accuracy and level of detail! Aside from the missing edge loops those are some very complete looking WIP models! One thing though is that if your intending to bake them down to onto 2048^2 px or smaller maps the edges on some of the unimportant details will get really aliased/…
I'm not sure anyone would ever need this. The only reason tutorials exist is to learn a skill from someone that is at a higher skill level. And why is it 18 hours long? Do you think people will really watch all 92 videos? In 15+ years, I've never seen or heard of anything like this, and I'm astonished. Like everyone else…
Particles would be your best bet. With a few different particle systems to pull off that particular effect, it can look brilliant. Try to break it down into its components and recreate them one by one. First off there's the sphere with the glow surrounding it. This could be handled with a mesh, yes, but you could also use…

@ dejawolf: Thank you for posting this great tank. I have never seen it before but I think the construction and placement of the missile system gave me a nice idea how to solve issue with proper hydraulical support of the missile pods. During the weekend I'll try a solution where the hydraulic element is located at the…
Now its getting juicy. I fully agree with you on that point. I am working on a TC mod for an old game for that exact reason. I liked the origional game back in 2000 and have played it off and on in multiplayer ever since. I have spent the better part of a year learning the mod tools for it and now I am learning model…
