Studios are showing more WIP projects and making of content, look at Double Fine, they are doing the same approach as Wolfire with Broken Age and Massive Chalice, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOnO96mV044#t=1079 Epic Games is doing something similar with the new Unreal Tournament. I do agree if you want to get some…
Oh noes don't use that! BWAH! Nah seriously, the specular I made for that desk is epic fail and should have used custom normals before I baked my normals. Not to mention the diffuse is so dam noisy. Live and learn, wanted to make sure I passed on what I learned from it :P I really need to update my websites its three years…
So I FINALLY got some time to work on this. Super fricken WIP. I plan on going over the layout again with some paintovers to make it a bit more epic. It's pretty damn boring right now. The idea is to have a Apep themed egyptian throne room. ie, lots of snakes and evil stuff. I just felt that I had to so SOMETHING so I…
Nope... not that one either. Would it help to know that this was a made for tv movie, split into two parts. Pretty epic movie as well. So here is another quote. "I had won. I was trying to smile but it was the smile of desolution. Inside, I felt only the pity and the terror and the waste of it all. Everyone I had ever…
this is like one of those math equations where the correct answer is D: not enough info Badname: i think you may be right. I mean, how many people on this forum can honestly say they're able to produce next gen quality work atm? show of hands? how many game studios? I'm reminded of Ror's comments in the Epic Hiring thread.…
I think it's a tad shameful that the caves seem to take on epic dimensions; Dear Esther takes place in Scotland (or in someone's mind!), not Middle Earth... buuuuut you can't argue with the prettiness of those screens. That's because the audio makes 90% of the mod. There's no actual gameplay to it. Give Dear Esther a try,…
yeah, normal map seemed to turn out ok. usually when i run into that inverted faces problem, i do a "reset xform", and it inverts all the normals inward on the model. then if you select all faces and hit "flip" in editable poly, everything should be oriented properly on your uv's. i'm sure that probably makes no fucking…
Khang Le is a really fantastic artist, his concepts just rock, and you can really see that coming out in some of the more epic settings and interesting details within. I've edited the original post to remove the link. If anyone has a problem with this, PM me & keep it out of this thread please. Obviously I can't stop…
Sorry took a while getting back. Fifa came in and had some work for college. Anywho yeah I tried ladders and they just crash on me. Maybe Epic has removed it and its now legacy? Running on August Build EDIT: Got it working but I had to move the brush. Anytime I try to change the direction, it crashes on play. PS Parkar is…
hmm, im at work too :poly136: so i'll have to go dig up some tutorials when i have the time, though it was a trial and error process for me, a quick search on the gears user mod forum at epic did come up with some great results. i think the whole animation exporting process is exactly the same as unreal2, except in 3 you…
