the 2 formates aren't really directly comparable, but i guess there is possibilities of there being a little more quality in vinyl even if the recording is digital, since cd's are only 16bit 44.1khz, while most studios i know, even just the ones around my city record at 24bit 88.2khz or better. but in that case why not… -

Terrain depends. If it IS going in a game engine, you might be best doing the terrain there. I haven't used SDK so I can't make any calls on it. But most engines let you use a skybox camera for distance (In Hammer you build a 16th scale version of terrian outside player area and it gets rendered full size behind player… -

Yeah, Photoshop really struggles with alpha channels in PNG. It don't think it supports 16bit PNG by default either. Used to be you could completely replace it with SuperPNG plugin but not any more, it had to live along side it. Yep that's the way to go, have two hard drives. One SSD for programs, and one regular hard drive for file storage. For ram, 16gb is what most game artists use these days, some do need more then that though. If you decide to go with 16gb, I would get 2x8gb instead of 4x4gb so as to leave yourself some room for expansion…
