I haven't the time no inclination to read the entire thread up to this point, especially because I read the last one and I can't imagine it being too different. Honestly, I think whether or not piracy is wrong/illegal is completely a moot point at this day and age. The fact is piracy happens, and cannot really be curtailed…
Here are the sample videos I mentioned. They've been reduced to 256 colors to keep the file sizes down, but the actual dvd videos are full 16 bit color. Carbon Fiber - 75 megs Spirit/Ghost - 28 megs Wireframe - 7 megs
Alright, hopefully Jesse won't mind me mentioning this was a test for my company, Cryptic Studios. I took a look at the submission tonight and what I've noticed is pretty much what's already been mentioned: - Overall very bland & boring. - I can't tell if this is supposed to be indoors or out, lighting is boring. With all…
That answer I can't quite give you. I can tell you that the jump from a 3850 to a 4870 really helped out my Viewport speed. However, that could be because i went from 256 vram to 1gb. You probably would have to Google that. As for the rest of your rig, you can shave a few bucks off and go with Win7 Pro, unless you want the…
Looks good. It's easier to use CSS to render the thumbnail borders. CSS 3 makes rounded corners possible with border-radius, but I don't know if it's worth a damn. They would look better square anyway. .thumb img {border: solid 10px rgb(255, 255, 255)} I agree about the legal jargon, nobody gives a shit.
For Mudbox there are these tutorials put up just the other day by aphexx. The third one might be of particular interest to you. It's not the cleanest workflow for a tilable mesh but that's a problem with Mudbox not tutorial itself. Also this one over at the Area, using that method you can also crank up the opacity of the…
Dude I am SOOO ignorant of these terms. What do you mean by "256 PPM"? Also are you suggesting that for the pillars that the top and bottom bases of the pillar should be 1024x and the middle tier of the pillar should 256x?
Yeah just overlay another normal map on top of another one. nDo will do it or do it by hand. Adjust the levels of the one you're laying on top to output only 1/2 of the blue channel (so instead of 0 to 255 take it down to 0 to 127/128) and set the blend mode to overlay.
Ok I found this. I know MSI isn't a mainstream notebook maker, I remember them making mainboarts tho, but look at those components! I can't find anything better at the same pricerange. It's freakin 750 euros. http://www.emag.ro/notebook_laptop/notebook-msi-gx600px-211eu-core2-duo-t8100-21ghz-3gb-250gb-negru--pGX600PX-211EU…
Concerning lights you can use as many static lights as you want and bake the shadow maps for performance. So just place lights that have a low radius... from 256s to 512s and play with the brightness.. which should not be more than 1... i keep them 0.6 or lower... bouncing light should be 0.2 but it's up to you. also i…
