I just selected the low poly object and set the smoothing group one to it but the result looks just bad

Better to duplicate the faces in Max. Polygon sub-object mode, select all, Detach as copy and as element, then Flip.

Id personally start with a quaded plane, add the insets, then use soft selection/lattice/ffd to get the shapes.

select a white color -> color -> fill object. you probably activated rgb at some point. hope that helps

SRGB won't solve the problem, and by the way it's a setting always applied by UDK while selecting TC_NormalMap as compression method
