Nice work on this. The images used as the top banners. It would be nice if there's a link somewhere that'd take the user to the thread where it originates from. Might be a hassle, but it would be nice. Although I think that might be part of the 2.0 update. EDIT: Oh, and just to be picky. A 1px black drop shadow behind the…
If you're looking for a rule of thumb, I'd say use a bevel when it's actually going to be noticable in the model's silhouette, or it will make some other part of the process easier or more efficent. Using hard edges instead of tiny bevels is fine most of the time, with the added bonus of being easier to LOD. Save baking…
Baking a groom down to a character and blending that with strategically placed haircards is what seems to have been done to those naughty dogs indeed. These are probably pretty low poly models. Another way that only looks good on longer/dense fur and requires a lot of polygons is to cover everything in haircards. There are…
Got busy with uni, but had time to fit in a few more Substance Designer practice pieces! Here have some cake :) Re-used the strawberry graph I made before & blended it with some dough and pudding (like a German strawberry cake). Also, I made this glyph generator within Designer! I used it for a quick experiment together…
Looks awesome! The metals look great and the model itself is really solid. Only points I see to bring up are the grip and the background. The grip material just seems a little too low res/blurry. As for the background, I think the gun pops a bit more on the renders you took in the post before this one. I think it blends in…
This is looking pretty sweet. However, all of the detail is starting to blend a bit too much around the body section and parts of the legs. Its getting hard to pick out the important bits. I'd try to pick a few areas that are larger and two tone it to really bring out the core features of the mech. The awesome curved…
Yeah you're not the only one. I definitely feel the rush as it says "Invading new world". But I chill out beforehand cause it can be strategic at times. So I entered the painted world and said to myself "Man, if you can get the painted ninja armour then this game is perfect." A few minutes later I open a chest and voila.…
Sole units come in all shapes and sizes, but yeh I definitely agree here; I think I'm going to redo all the shoe/boot in general; Its too high, not blending with the overall theme very well and like you pointed out how some realistic issues of how it works. Thanks for pointing that out I'll make sure to use that reference…
Hey again, this time we are iterating and reviewing what we've done so far, the character went into final sculpt phase. the turtle and its seat has to blend with the rider and have something in common, so we decided to go for this here: thats exactly the feeling we want you guys to get when you look at that thing :) and…
So, to help on composition here: I think everything looks too much distinctive colors, have you thought about doing an overall color correction into all your textures to some green or blue, or red? Maybe a combination of these colors would help you to get a better goal. Think about the environment behind it, what would be…
