I color pick from this: and paint over the leaves on a different layer and put that layer at 50%-- obviously this tones down the existing normals, so I usually crank those up extra high in CrazyBump when I make them. You can also play with blend modes light hard light and overlay to see if you can get results you like.
did a quick job tonight to adjust what you already had, here's what I came up with: I'm getting some weird light bleed through at the back corner, inside and outside on the back of the upper cabinet. I'll take another look later when I have more time, but I couldn't figure out what it was doing in the time I had.
Sorry to hear that..hard drives suck when they go bad. These are the only other ones I've got that might help.. The car is in that tiny garage in the other picture at the moment and it doesn't really move right now. I can't get any other good shots of it. I think the shape is pretty close, just where it blends into the…
i dig it, except for the hands. the proportions seems pretty good, it borders on manly though - kinda like the ambiguous Robin from early batman comics. the biggest thing that bugs me about the hands would be the wrists, she seems to be completely missing them. The thickness of the forarm does not blend well into the…
I'm really digging it. Sad to see the blog portion go, but the layout is looking great. Great formatting for the thumbnails in particular, their size gives an excellent semi-detailed introduction to the viewer. Doesn't leave anybody in the dark. Colours R Gut. If I can look at Polycount's bleeding green for this long,…
The face is coming together more. You have a weird crease just under the edge of the nostril. The line of the jaw should be smoother and the head looks like it is blending into the top of the ear. You have come a long way. Getting people to look like people is a very hard subject. The ears need work, but I'm assuming that…
The stuff on the left is happening because you're getting light bleed from your lightmap UVs, or if you don't have a separate lightmap UV channel then your main UVs don't have enough padding. Not sure about the problems on the right, but it might be the same thing. Check out this tutorial by Stephen Jameson about how to…
People bitch and complain about being ID'ed til their about 40. Then it's a blessing. The stores I've worked at in the US have laws stating you must ask anyone you believe is 27 or younger. Local law enforcement will send minors through as a test, and if you don't ask, YOU are arrested. I'm never asked because I always…
looks awesome.. IMO the only real problem are the folds... those ones on the side, i think you should get rid of the shadow that's on top of all of theM? it doesn't quite make sense, and is making them look a bit like veins or something. IMO you should gradiate that highlight up so it blends smoothly with the rest of the…
if you wanted to put a splatter or stain on a rough object in max I would do it using two different UV channels. You can use a separate uv channel for one material and one for another and then blend between the two using a mask that also uses the relevant UV channel. You can set the masked UV coordinates to not tile and it…
