That's really cool of you to put up the model for others to texture/rig/animate or w/e. I'm sure lots of people will appreciate being able to practice those things without having to spend tons of time on an epic model and bake like this. Good stuff.
So yeah, I textured the sword, the part I badly suck at >_< . Used Marmoset for the turntables and render. The textures: I would really appreciate some feedback on the texturing cause I really wanna nail the look, so I really need the practice and some advice.
Yep that's what I wanted to do. Plus I wanted to create a base mesh for when I create other models. I heard from someone on YouTube that they recreate a base mesh every couple of months to keep practicing so I wanted to start that as well.
Well he was supposed to be closed be blind until I thought it was funny to stick a pipe to him. Then I juggled with him having cataracts. Not sure if I overdid it though. I always have trouble making female faces appealing. Need to practice it more. Thanks mate!
Congrats on finishing! He came out great; and good that you were able to use him as a platform to get some workflow practice. Always really liked Fizz. Considered doing him for the contest early on. Us sea creature entries gotta stick together, hah.
Even though I do agree that ngons don't necessarily matter if renders/deformations turn out fine - for new artists I still feel quad modelling is good practice. And yeah, same with the UV's. Dont auto them - and if you do, clean 'em up
@Alemja So I gave it a go, minimalising my colour pallet, and honestly prefer it how it was, but gave me a chance to try something new, obviously it's not brilliant as it's my first time doing it and I know it'll take practice, but it was good to try something new. model
It looks like it was pretty cool back on GA, so I don't see why not try to bring it back. Seems like it would be a lot of fun. I like the idea that env dudes could make props and little sets too. Fun + Practice is always good
While it´s true that it is entertaining, i really don´t see any practical use. It´s a feature which i never used once. If i want controls like shaking my controlling device i play with my wii(or ps3 with move):poly142:
@pyrZern - good crit. I'll take a look at those issues on her face. thanks :) . Your model was coming along well btw. I'll keep a lookout for challenges now since I know about them. I need to do more of these and get some practice in.
