Good luck! Looks great. I suggest posting on all platforms even reddit and unreal forums (if you havent already). Also there are some really good talks from past GDCs where solo devs or indie studios talk about PR on a (very) limited budget. I'll post some links if i can find them.
it's going to be quite visible, I'm afraid but only from a relatrively low near horizontal angle but I got that alpha issue sorted out here's the model as it looks now, still have to add some scratches to this rough DDO base [sketchfab]c76bba4c77f5415cbb2f52cf7a894fcb[/sketchfab] Han Solo's DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol by…
It is, but this has been the trend for most of 2014. There have been a few ticket bundle sets without loading screens, but the sets in chests are a different story. I am not the best artist, and my 3d is much better than my 2d, but I will still be doing my first solo loading screen for my new bloom set for these reasons.
very cool for a solo effort! i wonder how the ships might do with some more lighting, though. they're extremely flat and it makes it so they don't really pop off the background. also not totally sold on the concretey texture overlay on the space station, as it's not clear what the material is, nor the noise on the sand…
Here are some good examples of solid solo indie game efforts. I would play most of these guys' games so that you can re-scope your expectations of what successful indie game devs do and how they do it: http://distractionware.com/blog/ http://cactusquid.blogspot.com/2010/08/cactus-arcade-20.html http://www.increpare.com/
Various model shots. Carbonite was toned down for the final model, these were just ones with frozen Tibana gas instead of Han Solo. In some cases I have used 3do to view the models, but the bakes were made using xnormal from a high poly model. Ndo was used in certain cases when a bake failed to work properly.
aim with the guitar and yank the wammy bar to blast enemies with waves of pure metal; play solos to summon minions; grab the controller by the neck and swing it for melee combat. What more could you ask for?! playing this game on average controllers like x360 and PS3 would be a crying shame. and the x360 GH controller…
yeah the galleries are separated by scene / model. you make a good point Nick about using html. I'll probably go that route in the future. Lightbox is pretty easy to setup and I preferred that method of displaying the images. The white border I was talking about was if the images are solo with no background the default…
I feel like your missing shots of solo props. you have all these environment filled with art you've made, but no where can I look at a singel hero prop except for in the "scifi scene" and the "fantasy chest". Id break of some of the assets that your most proud of from your scenes and do a proper breakdown of them as well.
Well then you suck sir. I would wear a pink polo shirt with a popped collar and a picture of me naked on it, complete with unicorns and racial slurs if it said Polycount on it. Especially if it said "Polycount Forum Member". :nerd: Btw- You guys should make them in two colors. People will buy twice as many. I know I will,…
