Full screen alpha test seems to have a moderately large performance impact. We've been trying to avoid using it in areas where it can take up a large portion of the screen. Multiply or Additive blending are our preferred methods if we can get away with it. Alpha test can work if used sparringly. -

You should be able to now. All new members have limited accounts until they've been approved by the moderation team. In order to be approved, you must make your first post on Polycount to be verified. Once done, and our team has approved it, your account is fully open and you're good to go. -

I hope everyone else has set up a "How the Governor will die" betting pool with coworkers by the way.. Anyways, just watched the latest episode, it really turned into a 80's horror flick at one point, where the Gov, much like Michael Myers or Jason would just happen to show up. -

I'd be interested in contributing. I'm moderate to advanced in Softimage modeling / animation / texturing. Back when I was in high school, I took three years of ROP training on XSI 2.0. Had the first concept art class yesterday and I'm even more stoked on it now. The format worked very well and instruction is top notch. Charles is a pimp. Having a teaching assistant there to moderate and ask questions that weren't thought of is a really good idea. Lots of good vibes inside the classroom. Keep it up guys! -

OK, but I'm not the one who started it and I thought we were coming to a reasonable consensus on the discussion. I don't think the discussion turned bad or anything but I guess I understand why the moderator did it. It just seemed really suspicious and that's probably my fault because I have such a disdain for the WTO. -
