Gaming is a big hobby of mine so eventually I wondered how games were made, after doing some research I decided that I wanted to work in the games industry. A school nearby where I lived had a new game design course, the course itself was really bad in retrospect but its where I discovered my love for creating models.
Been a busy year so far! I dedicated this past month of winter to redoing the Gustav completely. Came across an awesome thread of reference that really helped push the detail on this piece compared to to what it was before.…
Im a student myself and I left the Territorial Army in the UK to attend college and study game dev. I have seen many pro's give advice and I would say don't go to school and study 3d if your not passionate about it and really want to do it as a career, theres one thing doing it as a hobby but its quite another following it…
Hmm... if I lost my eyes I could take music from being a hobby to being a career. If I lost my hands, that's tougher, but I could probably pick up programming since Java came very easily to me in college. If I lost both, I'd try to find work as a voice actor. Regardless, I'm still gonna work on games. ;)
Two Alvin CraftMaster Hobby Stations next to each other forming an L. I had one to start with so when I wanted more desk space I bought another. Since its sitting on a carpeted floor, and they apparently changed the design minorly in the 3 years since I got the first...it works about as well as you'd expect...ghetto style.
Pea to be honest, I'm seeing big progression in the work of Frosty. And like he's saying it's his hobby and he enjoys it, and I'm glad he does. Frosty don't stop posting here, just use the comments you agree with. The comments where you think: ''Hey silly me, I didn't think of that myself''. Ignore the ones you can't cope…
Actually, you can make more than minimum wage flipping burgers I am amazed though at how often you guys reference bad pay/treatment in the industry. This was a career path I considered when I was a teen, but chose not to follow and it makes me glad I didn't. I'm going to stick with my electronics/programming path and just…

Hi all! I'm studying 3d sculpting for more time than I'd like to admit but some concepts that may be quite simple/obvious for most are not clear to me... I believe maybe I'm not cut out to this, at least professionally, but I'd like to improve on sculpting as a hobby. Could someone please share an example (on a human face)…
Hey everyone, Thanks for your feedback. I've been pretty busy with stuff at work and home recently, but the last few weekends I was able to return to this project and make a little more progress. Here's the first pass on the gun. My main source of inspiration was the amazing gun designs from District 9. Here's some images…
