1920x1440 yeah but they don't make them. I was looking for a 4:3 for like 6 months but came up with a big fat goose egg. The biggest I found was 20" and it had a horrible pannel and 16ms response time. No good for gaming or movies. LCDs are pretty much aimed at 16:9 these days. -

I use textures.com mostly if i need a texture input for something. I don't use that high resolutions tho, albeit they have some 16k and up textures aswell. In that case you're right, poliigon.com is considerably more affordable. Guess i had other uses in mind that don't require such resolutions. -

Re: Normal map from a texture
Yeah just overlay another normal map on top of another one. nDo will do it or do it by hand. Adjust the levels of the one you're laying on top to output only 1/2 of the blue channel (so instead of 0 to 255 take it down to 0 to 127/128) and set the blend mode to overlay. -

Pior gives help! That may help. You can't make a full normalmap just by painting a greyscale and running it through the filter. You have to change it to Overlay mode on top of your base normalmap, set the blue channel's levels to 127 instead of 255, collapse that and run the filter again set to Normalise. -

Well i tried to clean it up, but there is a huge amount of work to be done. Looking at the model now, and where the cleanup will get me... im thinking of going back to a save before all the chamfers, when it was around 6k polygons instead of 16k polyogns. Do you think thats a good idea? :) -

Alright, just hit 16k polys now. Improved her hair and started baking. Ran into some problem with seams and diffuse and so many, all are resulted from sRGB <_<" Got loads of help from Jake, Paul, and Alicia. :) Thanks guys(and gal). Not happy with her knee, again. Lawl <_<" -

Don't get 1x 16b, you need 2x8gb for dual channel, if going for 16gb at the time and thinking you'll want more later, buy a mobo with 4 slots, it's not hard to find one. 16GB is fine unless you're really pushing it, doing insanely high poly sculpts, texturing at 4K or 8K, etc.
