Finished of my Scene. The tools are so awesome and a huge timesaver!! I used ndo and DDo on most of the props. Ndo is such a great tool for detailing and combining normal maps. DDO is great for texturing or even to have a quick base color. Definitely use it on my next scene.. Feel free to leave a feedback ;)- thread!
looking over this i think it looks unfinished like theres no street for the buildings to rest then again the scene itself has no street for it for the buildings to rest on so i need to add a path and i think need more rubble anyone else have any suggestions to improve or should i start a new scene?
I like your environments. To finish them off add detail assets where walls touch floors or assets touch the ground. For example in your junk yard scene you could add dead grass around the tires. And for your cave scene you could add little rock pebbles or something.
There is also talk about using USD (Universal Scene Description) for 3D file formats in all
packages. Which means all scenes in all packages will
be saved in the same format, some companies are already using it. Animal Logic launches USDMAYA Plugin as Open Source http://www.animallogic.com/News/Current-News/USDMAYA
Wow Censored_ID, this is incredible. Seriously, this scene is soo beautiful , really shows how much work and planning you've put into it! Did you work from any concept or did you plan/design the entire scene? Would love to see some breakdowns :) . Looking forward to some more awesomeness from you!
@PixelMasher Haha no problem-this is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. I started the Artstation feudal Japan scene last year but never finished. I'm planning out my timeline on Trello right now and I won't get to UE4 till April, but I'll post my scene when I do.
Hey man thanks for your comment! :) I just model it all out in 3dsmax, no sculpting or anything. Though I would like to sometime get into sculpting for more organic pieces like cloth and etc.... someday! Starting a small 4 piece prop scene study. Finished the hipoly cart for said scene.
AHHH I'm behind schedule, I had to work overtime over the weekend, Got the major stuff in udk, and setup up the scene so I easily swap out assets with the final ones. There's a few small assets I still need to get in the scene, but I'm going to start texturing the buildings first.
Update on my room, Next to add dirt maps and work into the textures more, lighting at the moment is only temporary :) This is my first scene that I've made from scratch, definitely learnt the lesson of not modelling to grid hence the over lapping of the models and the imperfect meet between the platforms. Any thoughts on…
I think you have too many lights in your scene and they're washing everything out. Letting a few darker/more shaded spots exist in your scene will give it more depth. It looks like your ceiling has lights going down both sides and the middle, that's just too much.
