Junction Point, they just wrapped up Epic Mickey2. I can't remember if they are owned outright by Disney or if they just are under contract. But either way he is working for "The Family" and will probably stick around so long as they keep making good games. I just hope they get to make the games they want and don't get…
Just because Epic tends to use lots of small modular parts doesn't mean you have to do it exactly the same way. You should be fine dropping in large structures. BSP is just there for prototyping now i believe. You can turn it into models inside the editor if you don't need anything more fancy for a wall.
There is no magic behind the metallic parameter, as I said, it will just define if you use your colored map as Albedo (dielectric) or Specular (metal). And it's not a lucky guess, I have the UE4 source code. I don't understand why do you want to link that with IoR. The IoR is in the specular color. And the visibility of…
@Bek Lists>Statistics for nGons = freaking epic. Thanks! I've finally figured out how to set my own hotkeys (noob I know) but I stumbled on the hidden command line thing by accident and found I could map my keys. Do you know if there is a way to map hotkeys to the Basic, Deform, Duplicate, Etc Tabs ?
Hey Simon, I really enjoyed the part when your folio totally exploded my laptop screen. I am curious of a few things, but I'll only ask one q, the bolts on that fighter plane, which is epic btw, how did you place them all? Script? Paint geo? Thanks. Truly wicked work.
Really?! 5% isn't that much. I would definitely talk with people over at Epic to find out how that applies to your specific situation, but 5% is really nothing. It was much higher with previous versions of unreal. Also you can cancel you subscription at any time and retain your licences you just don't get updates.
Hey nice start with the models jbelcher. Add some chamfering in those major corners so they do not appear so razor sharp. Also for Unreal you don't need no stinking books! Google UDN tutorials, basically a series of tutorials by Epic that teaches you all the basics about using UDK. It should get you started =)
Mmm, SFW porn. Here are a few that the folks at EPIC provided during the UDK days: https://udn.epicgames.com/Two/WorkflowAndModularity.html - provides some good information regarding pivot placement, and other modular techniques. https://udn.epicgames.com/Three/ModularLevelDesign.html - link to PDF article by Lee Perry,…
That's why I prefer Epic's approach to tech demos, you know all of the features they are showing off are going to end up in the engine in the next 1 or 2 major releases. And most of the time, you get the entire project to play with and use as a learning tool. There's no major gap between the editor they give you, and they…
This means that Carl Kolchak (The Night Stalker) and Barney Fife are now on patrol in the Great Beyond. Watch out, all you wacky supernaturals! These guys paid their dues and brought a lot of people some good entertainment. They will be remembered. Hey, now John Waters can make his epic Don Knotts biopic starring Steve…
