a few quick things: 1) Your render is blurry. Until you post a clean shot, you're not going to get quality feedback. 2) Centerpiece is illusion-breakingly polygonal. This day and age, round better be round. Especially considering your three arches are. 3) AO bake lighting pass. It's a must for classy presentation. 4)…
updated my 360 this morning, i like the page flipping style of the menus but its lacking quick navigation, that is until you press the xbox button on the controller and a handy menu pops up. Setup my Netflix account only to discover that you cannot browse the selection that is available on netflix from the comfort of the…
Hello, I am an industry veteran artist of over two decades, having worked on many award winning titles, such as the Elder Scrolls Series and Dark Age of Camelot. I have just finished work on a Fantasy RPG for the University of Louisiana, and "Saga" for Silverlode I'm experienced in all form of content creation, from pixel…
With tiling textures, you still keep your shell within the 0 to 1 space because the texture tiles. There's no need to go outside, it'll just be the same texture. Tiling just means repeating in a direction. Tiling textures repeat in U and V directions. Trim textures usually repeat in one direction, either U or V or Harry…
Thanks for sharing! Let me toss my two cents too. I tried this app a couple of years back and wasn't quite happy with it tbh. I couldn't make it to work properly with stylus pressure sensitivity (neither Win Tab nor Windows Ink worked). Epic Pen has performed like MS Paint from 90s - no antialiasing, no smooth lines, only…
The problem I see is that you're baking the normal map with empty spaces in the high poly (holes between tiles), because of this the edge padding is extending the color of the border pixel and the extension doesn't match when tiled. You can try a few things. What I would do is adding a plane behind the high poly tiles so…
Ok so i found the program, the problem is the software is horribly dated (DirectX9). Overview With 3D Ripper DX you can: - capture all geometry, textures and shaders, rendered during single frame; - import captured geometry into 3D Studio Max or Maya; - see what exactly has been drawn by each individual draw call; - see…
D460: Yeah, I took a small detour, I still want to become environment artist and I love working in 3D, but I got an amazing opportunity to work on 2D game in Unity with my colleague. We set up the art style to be Pixel art with using combined techniques. I pretty much love this approach, as for some assets I am using my…
@blot12345 Things are looking cool! I don't see issues deforming the model after it's being baked... because distorted meshes would also have staight UV's to be able to minimise pixel artifacts... So unless you need the deformation as a guide for creases or something than there is no issue as far as I can think of. I do…
