Zac, For troubleshooting purposes, I closed the scene I'm currently fiddling around with and opened a new empty one. I imported a single asset developed by Epic themselves (I think it was a weapons locker) and lit that single asset with a single dominant direction light. Lightmass still gave me the middle finger even then.…
@Froyok Really?Do u have any proof or link that this is the case cause it would be weird or out of place for Epic to do this considering they make more money than Unity imo.If this is the case, are u saying it doesn't come with the 19 months per month download or u have to pay extra?I wonder how much.
I have to say HP that the only one who even comes close to making UDK levels as sexy as yours is Jordan Walker and he's sort of cheating since he works for Epic :P My god this is amazing! PK, your work is fantastic too so seeing the two of you collaborate on a project is awe inspiring!
EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY! I was about to write out some rap battles for max/maya but I forgot I can rap. Spent 15 minutes trying to come up with something, all I came up with was a line about max's UI is dookie, it is a bigger waste of space than Jersey Shores Snooki.
That sounds on the money. I was thinking of those Shield Mandroid things Stark destroyed in Armor Wars. Maybe we can get some Extremis in the 3rd one. How sick would that be? Also: Iron Man 232 for the Epic Win. No real spoilers in it just a cool look into Stark's mind; may need cdisplay to read it.
I recently started dabbling with UE4 only to find out they don't have a good lighting solution for grass and foliage, which explains why Epic didn't recreate the UDK jungle level for UE4 :P I haven't tried his technique yet but this thread seems to have some good solutions for nice grass in UE4.
Gotta love the ost. Adds so much mood to the boss fights. Everything is dreadful, and then you face a huge boss, and the music kicks in... and its just epic. Can't wait to see how this new game is shaping up. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB6sOhQan9Y"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB6sOhQan9Y[/ame]
That seems more like something they would want to do just in case some asshat tried to hold the trademark hostage. Kind of like what Atari did by snatching up Unreal Tournament 2004-2020 trademarks and domain names. Then Atari and Epic parted ways and the next version of UT after UT2k4 was UT3 not UT2k7.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Epic did something like that with their cliff rocks. I only noticed because of the UDK meshes, but their material is self-aware and tiles more depending on the size of the mesh, which makes it easier to use in different ways. I guess it all comes down to how well the texture tiles?
Hmm a quake mapping contest with each version of the game could be epic... quake 1 map contest followed with quake 2 and 3... lets revive the oldschool awesome! This is a pretty nice and sweet port / quake 1 exe update. http://directq.codeplex.com/ This adds a bunch of nice mod features as well. Can also be combined with…
