An interesting sum up of one viewpoint of current thinking, sourcing a lot from the geological record: http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/Carboniferous_climate.html I'm sure it's not the only perspective out there with a ton of pretty graphs and charts to back them up though.
"You can't make a pointless series of experiences and throw in a narrative component and claim that your game has a story, because it doesn't have a story; It has a whole bunch of shit." Fuckin A. For me this is Fallout 3 summed up nicely.
A post was started on the Game Career Guide Message Boards, more or less an open letter to the guy. It summed up this thread pretty well. I'm sure he read it and has taken steps to throw himself off a tall building.
If there's no exposed scaling parameters on the projection node you should be able to use a transform node to scale the input image to the right proportions within a square - youll have to give it the original resolution and do some mild sums to work out the correct scaling but it won't be too tricky.
Bisector stuff is definitely going to be imperative going forward. Getting those separation lines in there by just connecting a curve or a plane mesh would just be killer. So, in closing, here's the sum total of the MeshFusion stuff I did yesterday afternoon. Killer plugin, my god...
slum you summed up my greivance with it.. years back when I saw the promo stuff it looked awesome, great concept art and visuals.. then i was gutted when I saw the gameplay, of some camera rotating around a spaceship flying in a straight line into oblivion
Making a weapon during my free time. So far, I've spend about a good sum of 10 hours. Mainly because I wanted to make sure I get every bit of details into the gun before I start making a low poly version (for bakings) Here's what I got so far!
yea i was thinking the same about the actual art-direction of the game. it looks like a lot of things mixed together but nothing really cohesive. it might just sum up to being itself as the dx3 style once the game is seen as a whole
Meat-Shooters and Low Poly Fellow-Dudes are still people though! Even if they may be pre-school folks, they can still have valid opinions! Also what Equil said sums up how I feel pretty well.
the best way i've found to sum it up is that it plays and feels just like a korean COD clone. the only thing it's missing is some dude who yells HEADSHOT while a big HEADSHOT graphic comes up on the screen. not a quality product.
