In LW I'd spline it out, then make poly patches. This one I just made a poly cylinder, removed 270 deg of it then added the divot, made a spline to guide it and shaped it. Like 4 minutes.
Try chamfering the top edges as well (like the concept), instead of letting the subdivision dictate your curve. On a concept this angular/planar i'd find every excuse to curve/round something out personally.
Hmm, thanks for helping, seems to have worked okay, I changed it a little to get the shape I was after. But it doesn't seem like very good topology? and there are still deformations around the side connections...
Looks like you want to model this gun in one piece. But why? Look also exactly on the grip. Its not just one piece of geomety. This would make your life easier i think.
Even with an excessive amount of segments still get the same issue of the pitching and it causing a bump. If any Edge loops are placed even kinda close to where the bevel is it pitches like crazy even more.
@Kramo Trying applying a TurboSmooth modifier with 0 iterations than add another ontop and see if it fixes the problem, my Max sometimes messes about like that but double stacking TurboSmooth resolves the issue.
Its completed, I think. I didn't do the block like look. I guess in some way i didn't really have much of an understanding of what i wanted but thank you.
Thanks, guys. Yeah, looks like I really made it more complicated than it is. After everything I used Tape in max and apparently original bracelet's sides aren't that identical. Makes it easier.
Hey @clark_tee looking at reference I am pretty sure wing and fuselage are not one connected body. Also for hard surface stuff continuous mesh is rarely a case in real life so its best to approach stuff like this in a way how its built (section by section)
I have been getting some annoying pinching This is the shape I set out to achieve this is what I'm getting I would also like it to be flush with the curved surface if someone has a way to fix this or has any solution to re-model this that would be great because I've tried everything I know and all the results have been…
