I am simply just adding a response, nothing more, i am not on a high horse or a low horse i like what i do and i present my own work, i do not see my work as any better than anyone else's just fyi. Dark black-grounds usually aren't that great &/or it takes some really technical eyes and know-how to get right, imho. Quick…
That helped a bit thanks. I also found out that if images take a while to open it might be a conflict with the network printer, try setting your default printer to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" or remove all printer connections if you never print anything.
Why 3d painter cannot work as a simple manual layer/mask adder ? This would allow to modify this layer manually into photoshop if needed and to not being "surprised" by a "byebye dynamask..." Actually the only way i've found to work correctly with 3dpainter, is to paint in a duplicated layer of my current material…
thanks guys. So I've got a bunch of freelance work that I've been cranking on. Its some large 1/4 scale stuff (meaning the figures will be about 18 inches tall when complete). The client needs these done in wax. So I figured I'd skin several cats at the same time. I bought myself a cheap Airwolf filament extruder printer.…
3d printer on kickstarter......$347 excludes postage. Will be backing this but damn, have to pay extra $100 for shipping outside of the US They have made a few stretch goals which is making the printer more and more worth it.…
Well, I think if you get the parts from the right places you can end up building a 3d printer for about $350. If you have old normal printers to salvage parts from it can probably get even cheaper. Though you still have to build and trouble shoot it that way. Reprap.org has all the info about it. If I get enough money and…
Same. I imagine how I'd use it for 3d printing. Instead of printing multiples of the whole model maybe just print molds (the negative forms) and cast parts to be assembled a la garage kits. Theoretically cheaper workflow when you factor cost of printer filament vs. casting material you can buy in bulk. I feel more…
Im a senior in HS and I spent a lunch period explaining to the art teacher at my new school about what I do in 3d (and had to explain it a bit), showed her my gallery and she thought it was excellent and said I can use it for my focus for AP 2D design (since its not physical 3d). Now I have a problem. She was completely…
Thanks for the encouragement. I've been through a very similar process as you, with 16 minis pretty much ready to go. I have the added bonus of having to make them castable as well, so no undercuts, preserving mold lines etc. etc. I was really hoping for a service that has a printer with the same kind of uber resolution as…
@HarlequinWerewolf Gotta say it worked out pretty great having an reference object. I used a distorted sphere shape as you said and this is what came out. Now i have to try and break it up a little as it looks too perfect. Any ideas? Besides adding more strips on top like the one i already did, in opposite directions and…
