Put together a backpack that turns into a vehicle for this robot dude. And a quick little stand-in animation until an actual animator can get his hands on it. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkrA-uWdLdE&hd=1"]Wheel Transformation - YouTube[/ame]
Little more lunch crunch hard surface practice. Epic concept from Sam Brown and his robot army. Lots of cut holes, nuts and bolts to get my head around. Working on a zbrush rocky base and a render that better shows the detailing.
I'm working on texturing Square from Ashley Wood's World War Robot. I used the kuler site to extract a color palette from one of his paintings, and I'm shotting for a more gestural approach like his work. All hand painted.

Wester - I have been following this for a while it looks great1 The rails in particular look awesome! Great material definition!

yeah that's a fair call since the colour separation here. being just geo. gives no indication really of any differences in material. it'd be a combination of futureTech moulded robot rubber and hard plate chunks that will slide over each other and shift where they'd need to for articulation. the arms for example are almost…
Working on a robot suit designed by a friend of mine, heavily inspired by Ironman. Here are the legs so far, still loops to smooth and snap to fit them perfectly. Holes will be covered by some kind of muscle-like wires(Like the ones at the Crysis Suit) I'ts my first work in a hard surface/subD model so critics are always…
Scythe: I like 1 best. We are learning Maya at school!! So the first tasks are basically to dick around and learn things, and we're making small environments.. naturally I'm making a robot tree. I could probably get used to maya, s'long as I can export to max when I need to do serious polygon work ehehehehe
